The Game: 9 or 18?

In golf, you can play either nine holes or 18 holes. Each hole gives you a new challenge. You start on the tee box and take your first swing. Your goal is to see how many swings it takes to get the ball into the hole.

When you play a full round of 18 holes, you aim to finish in 72 swings or fewer. If you play a 9-hole round, your goal is 36 swings. Most beginners start with 9 holes because it’s shorter and easier to manage.

Both options are fun. Start with 9 holes to build your skills, then work your way up to all 18 holes as you improve.

Fairway > Bunker

When you step onto a golf course, it feels like you’re starting a fun adventure. Each hole is like a little journey, and where your ball lands can make things easy or tricky. After you take your first swing, you hope your ball lands on the fairway—the short, smooth grass that makes your next shot much easier.

But sometimes, your ball doesn’t land where you planned. It might roll into the rough, where the grass is longer and harder to hit from. That means you have to try a little harder to get your ball back on track.

As you get closer to the hole, you reach the green. The grass here is super smooth, almost like a carpet, and this is where you use your putter to gently roll the ball into the cup—just like in mini golf!

Watch out for bunkers, too. These are sandy areas that can trap your ball and make your next shot more challenging. You’ll need a different kind of swing to get out of the sand.

Every part of the course brings a new challenge, and that’s what makes golf so fun and exciting to play!

How to read a Scorecard?

When you play golf, your scorecard is like your personal game tracker—it helps you keep score and see how you’re doing. As you move from hole to hole, you’ll see numbers on the card that tell you which hole you’re on and the par, which is the number of shots you’re trying to match or beat.

After you finish each hole, you write down how many swings it took you to get the ball into the hole. Then you move on to the next one and do the same thing. It’s like keeping score in a game with yourself!

At the end of your round, you can add up all your scores to see how you did. Your scorecard shows your progress, helps you learn, and lets you celebrate getting better every time you play. Golf isn’t just about the final score—it’s about having fun and improving along the way!
